This tutorial is designed to give students an introduction to the basics of plagiarism and citations, and is made to be inserted into your Blackboard course(s). It consists of three components: a 15-minute video and a pre and post assessment. The assessments can be inserted as tests in Blackboard.
The video, "Diagnosis: Plagiarism", is viewable on a web page on the Library website where students will find many resources to help them avoid plagiarism. The video contains short ungraded quizzes.
To include the Tutorial in your Blackboard course:
1. Download and save the Zip files containing the assessments below by right-clicking and choosing Save Target As:
Plagiarism Tutorial pre-assessment.zip
Plagiarism Tutorial post-assessment.zip
2. Import them each into your course by going to the Control Panel, choosing Test Manager, then clicking Import. On the page that opens, browse to locate the saved Zip file, then click Submit. NOTE: use Internet Explorer for this process. Repeat for each Zip file. The imported assessments should appear in the Test Manager list.
3. Choose a content area in your course to place the tutorial. There, create a new test for each assessment and select the test parameter you want to use. Then create a link to the video web page on the Library website. Here is the page link address:
