As part of the Warm up America project volunteers are offering free instruction on how to knit and crochet Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 2-3 at noon on the Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus. Warm up America distributes warm afghans, caps and other items to thousands of cold and needy citizens across the country. Anyone who knits, crochets or wants to learn can participate by donating yarn, donating cash to buy yarn, or by completing 7x9 rectangles for assembly into afghans, lap blankets and shawls. The noon class is scheduled in the Verde Valley Campus Student Affairs Office (Bldg. I) at 601 Black Hills Drive in Clarkdale. For more information contact Trisha Travis at 634-6550. To learn more about the specification for knitting and crocheting the rectangles go to www.warmupamerica.org.
