On The Agenda - YC District Governing Board conducts budget workshop, regular meeting Jan. 16

The Yavapai College District Governing Board (DGB) will hold its annual budget workshop and regular monthly meeting Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. Both meetings will convene in the Rock House on the Prescott campus, 1100 E. Sheldon St., Prescott.
The budget workshop includes presentations by Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services, Dr. Clint Ewell, on Yavapai County and Yavapai College as well as the College’s historic expenditures and revenues. The meeting is scheduled to adjourn at about 12:30 p.m.
Regular Meeting Agenda
The Board will consider amending Intergovernmental Agreements (IGA’s) between Yavapai College and Mayer Unified School District for a public notice LED sign, and the Humboldt Unified District for providing on-site nursing training.
The Board will also consider termination of the IGA between the College and the City of Prescott for providing a sergeant at the Northern Arizona Regional Training Academy (NARTA). The College is currently working on an IGA with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office to fill the position.
Yavapai College President, Dr. Penny Wills, will report on the Spring 2018 Convocation; YC’s All Arizona Academic Team honorees; Achieve60AZ, an alliance committed to making Arizona more competitive through the power of education; and other related issues.
Vice President Dr. Ron Liss and Michael Lamar, Prescott City Manager, will present YC’s new Career and Technical Education 15-week training and internship program in custom 3D printing. The program was developed by Yavapai College in partnership with the City of Prescott Economic Development Office and Prescott-based RESA Wear.
Tania Sheldahl, Associate Vice President for Student Development and Scott Farnsworth, Associate Vice President for Student Success, will provide the Board with an update of the College’s Pathways initiative.
Finally, Dr. Ewell will present the preliminary assumptions for budget planning for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019.
