Dr. Karen Reed from Shaker Heights, OH has been selected as the Interim Dean of the Verde Valley for Yavapai College. She will start at the College on April 11th.
Her responsibilities will include the Verde Valley Campus, Sedona Center, and the departments of English, Humanities & Social Sciences.
Dr. Reed is a retired community college professional who served in a variety of roles in her 31-year career in higher education. She was a business faculty member, division head, dean, and Vice President of Academic & Student Services.
Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Secondary Education, a Certificate in Higher Education, an M.B.A. in Systems Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
The College anticipates Dr. Reed will serve in the role until October. A national search for the permanent dean will be conducted.
Yavapai College operates six campuses and centers throughout Yavapai County and offers over 100 degrees and certificates, student and community services, and cultural events and activities.
