Yavapai College Film and Media Arts is presenting a free screening of the new documentary, “Stewart Udall: The Politics of Beauty” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, in Building 19 on the YC Prescott campus.
The film, directed by John de Graf, chronicles the life and legacy of the late former Interior Secretary Stewart L. Udall and features interviews with Udall family members, Navajo artist Shonto Begay and current Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and others.
Udall, who also represented Arizona in Congress for three terms, is remembered for his avid support of legislation for clean air and water, the preservation of wilderness areas, restrictions on pesticides, establishment of the Wild and Scenic Rivers and National Trails systems, among many other accomplishments.
Director de Graf, who produced films for PBS for more than 25 years, is attending the free screening and will address the audience.
All are welcome.
