Yavapai College has announced the launch of a 120-credit Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science.

Registration for fall 2025 semester opens on Monday, April. 14, with the classes starting at the beginning of the fall semester on Monday, August 18. Anyone interested in pursuing the degree should go online to www.yc.edu/bscs to learn more.

This is the third baccalaureate degree offered by Yavapai College. In May 2022, Arizona Senate Bill 1453 passed into state law, allowing community colleges in Arizona to offer baccalaureate degrees, and Yavapai College was the first rural community college in Arizona to do so.

Technology is at the heart of modern industries, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science can open the door to high-demand, high-paying careers. Many entry-level positions in software development, cybersecurity, and IT require a bachelor’s degree, and professionals without one may find it challenging to advance in their careers. Earning this degree can lead to greater job opportunities, higher salaries, and long-term career stability.

YC is proud to offer a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree at just $169 per credit*, which is a fraction of the cost for the same degree at most universities.

The degree is designed to equip students with the technical skills and problem-solving abilities needed for success in the field. The program covers essential areas such as programming, cybersecurity, data structures, artificial intelligence, and software development. Students can enter as freshmen or transfer in at any time.

Students can complete the degree at their own pace. Whether starting from scratch or transferring credits, enrollers can finish in as little as two and a half years full-time or up to six years part-time. Up to 60 prior learning credits may be applied, helping students reach their goals even faster.
