The Yavapai College Foundation has teamed with Arizona Gives Day on Tuesday, April 6, to make it easy to "Give to what you Love" about Yavapai College – its students, acclaimed academic and career-training programs, or high-quality faculty and staff.
The YCF's sole mission is to support YC and the partnership with Arizona Gives Day is key to its ongoing fundraising efforts, said Mary Talosi, interim foundation executive director. The partnership proved successful last year when generous area residents designated more than $8,000 in Arizona Gives Day contributions to YCF, she said.
"Arizona Gives Day is a wonderful opportunity for the YCF to raise awareness of the valuable financial support it provides to Yavapai College and to all the individuals and families touched by its life-changing and economy-boosting educational opportunities," Talosi said. "We are thankful for the partnership and very grateful for every dollar we receive and are able to invest in scholarships, critical needs and innovation."
Although Arizona Gives Day, an online fundraising and awareness endeavor for more than 1,000 non-profit organizations statewide, is officially April 6 this year, early giving is underway. Donors can direct contributions to the YCF here
This year marks the ninth annual Arizona Gives Day presented by FirstBank. In 2021, the fundraising initiative aims to help Arizona nonprofits bounce back from an estimated $91 million in pandemic-related losses.
"Since the inaugural event in 2013, Arizona Gives Day has raised more than $23 million for Arizona nonprofits," said Jennifer Purcell, Senior Vice President & Director of Development at the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits. "Nonprofits have experienced an increase in demand for services and a decrease in donations. We need Arizonans to continue showing their commitment and support to nonprofits through their giving so they can maintain critical community services."
Along with bolstering fundraising efforts for non-profits like the YCF, Arizona Gives Day provides participating organizations the opportunity to win a portion of a $160,000 fundraising prize pool for most dollars raised and power hours, among other incentives.
