The Yavapai College Foundation (YCF), in partnership with Yavapai College, unveiled a wall commemorating the top 50 donors over the last 50 years.
The three plaques unveiled at a ceremony Friday evening are located on the patio of Building 32 on the YC Prescott Campus. They honor those individuals, families, and organizations that have been influential and generous in helping support Yavapai College student scholarships, faculty development, and programs that enrich both campus and community life.
Over 50 donors, college administration, and staff attended the unveiling event. Addressing the crowd was Dr. Lisa Rhine, Yavapai College President, Ms. Valerie Wood, Yavapai College Foundation Board President, and Mr. Perry Massie, former Yavapai College Foundation Board President, Foundation Board Emeriti, and a top 50 donor.
"These plaques commemorate your importance to Yavapai College," said President Rhine as she addressed the crowd. "It is YOUR passion, YOUR commitment, and YOUR philanthropy that ultimately makes it possible for us to be able to tell students You Can."
Founded in 1971, the Yavapai College Foundation is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2021.
"It's an exciting time to be a part of everything that we are doing at the Foundation," said Mary Talosi, Executive Director of the Yavapai College Foundation. "It is an absolute honor to recognize our top 50 donors with the wall and inspirational to work with people who are making such a major impact in the lives of others. I'd encourage everyone to join them in supporting YC students and Yavapai College."
As part of its 50th anniversary, the Foundation is embarking on a '50 for 50' campaign to raise $50k for emerging student priorities. For more information on the campaign, visit yc.edu/YC50.
