Tania Sheldahl was on the 1982-83 Women's Basketball Team. The '82/'83 achieved the following:
After the team was announced and inducted at the Sept. 2023 Hall of Fame Brunch ceremony, Vice President Rodney Jenkins surprised the crowd as he announced the following:
"I now have the distinguished privilege to present our final inductee into the Yavapai College Athletics Hall of Fame for 2023. If you ask me to describe this person using one word, it would be leader. But if I were allowed to expand on that, I would include dedicated, loyal, loving, passionate--about Yavapai College, its students, and the future. One may ask, “Do I make a difference? When I move…When I act…When I do something…and does the world notice?”
The 2023, Vice President’s Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee is none other than Tania Sheldahl, our Associate Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students, she is a wife, mother, leader, and mentor…and yes Tania, the world noticed!
Tania has dedicated her entire life to the betterment of our students. For three decades, she studied here, played here, and now leads a large department that’s focused on helping students complete their dream of earning a degree or certificate.
Tania, your legacy at Yavapai College began as an undefeated student-athlete and that legacy continues today. Jesus said, “Let the work I do speak for me.” Well over the past 30 years, your work has spoken loudly. You have achieved much in both your academic and professional experiences at Yavapai College. I am proud to work with you and I am impressed by your dedication and professional accomplishments. This is your moment. Congratulations, Tania!
