Scour the social calendar all you want! You won’t find an event that lets you explore educational opportunities, professional development, and award-winning wines – with your dog! – anywhere else in Northern Arizona. But on one Thursday evening, Yavapai College can help you enjoy, enlighten and advance yourself. And your little dog, too.

Circle Thursday, August 8 on your calendar. That’s when Yavapai College combines its Verde Valley Open House with its Wine & Wags event, 4-6 p.m., at YC’s Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale.

YC’s Verde Valley Campus opens its doors August 8 to two concurrent and unique events on its scenic campus in the Black Hills. The Verde Valley Campus Open House offers a free tour of YC’s Northern Campus and the opportunities that await there. The Verde Campus is home to more than twelve distinct degree programs and 20 certificate programs, in vocations ranging from Accounting to Nursing to Viticulture and the building trades. Find out why first-time college students, working students and those looking to find a new career or advance in an existing one have all used YC programs as a springboard.

The August 8 Open House makes college even more accessible. From 4-6pm:

  • ✅Meet the YC experts who can help you launch your journey
  • ✅Learn about certificate, associate, bachelors and transfer degrees
  • ✅See our world-class Skilled Trades Center and computer labs
  • ✅Brand-new Center for Learning and Innovation
  • ✅Submit your free admission application
  • ✅Find out about scholarships, financial aid, and ways to pay for college
  • ✅Tour our beautiful Verde Valley Campus, nestled in the mountains of Central Arizona.

Refreshments will be served, and prize drawings will be held for a Chrome Book, Amazon gift cards and more.

Wine & Wags is the College’s dog-friendly celebration, bringing humans and canines together in the Mabery Pavilion to enjoy a glass of wine from YC’s Southwest Wine Center (humans only) and a host of pet-friendly activities

Dog grooming, pet photography and puppy pools – to a backdrop of live music provided by Once Bitten. Feeling left out? The Verde Valley Humane Society will also be on-hand with a crew of adorable and adoptable dogs.

Both events run from 4 to 6 p.m., on Yavapai College’s Verde Valley Campus, 611 W. Black Hills Drive in Clarkdale. The Open House will be held in the Community Room, Bldg. Wine & Wags will be held in the Mabery Pavilion at the center of Campus. The $25 admission fee purchases a wristband, which includes table seating in the pavilion, a glass of wine and a charcuterie boat.
