Painters, sculptures, woodworkers open their doors and projects Oct. 4-6

The changing seasons bring more than beautiful colors and cooler temperatures. Across Prescott, it offers a cherished opportunity to shadow local artists and share in the creative process. Yavapai College’s Visual Arts Department opens its doors to the community as they chase inspiration on the canvas, clay, metal and wood. It’s all part of The Prescott Studio Tour, running Friday, October 4 through Sunday, October 6 across Prescott and on Yavapai College’s Prescott Campus.

The Prescott Studio Tour is a countywide celebration of our community and the talented artists who live here. This year, the free, three-day event will feature 74 artists in 53 private studios and another 40 artists in four separate arts centers – and Yavapai College is proud to be among them.

“Visiting the Studio Tour at Yavapai College offers a unique glimpse into the heart of the creative process.” Bryan Robertson, YC’s Dean of Visual and Performing Arts, said. “By witnessing artists and students at work in the Yavapai College labs sculpting metal, shaping ceramics or painting on canvas, visitors gain a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship, dedication, and inspiration that fuel their artistry. Each studio tells a story, revealing how technique and imagination transform raw materials into powerful expressions of creativity.”

Minutes from Prescott’s historic downtown, Yavapai College will proudly showcase its talented students and instructors across various artistic fields like Ceramics, Metal Sculpture, Jewelry, Lapidary, Woodworking, Woodturning, Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking.

The Prescott Studio Tour is free, and runs Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 6, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., at galleries and studios from Prescott to Prescott Valley, Williamson Valley, Paulden, Chino Valley and Dewey.
