Great music and big names will join forces at the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center, sharing their art in support of a most noble cause. Join us for Evening of Destiny, Saturday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m., on Yavapai College’s Prescott Campus.

Oscar-winning actress and U.N. Goodwill Ambassador Mira Sorvino will preside over an evening anchored by the music of the Lisa Mitts Band, with special guest artist Brandon Bee. The performance is the twelfth annual benefit fundraiser for Destiny House Restoration Center, a 501(c)(3) that provides sanctuary and recovery services for survivors of human trafficking in Arizona.

“Destiny House was actually inspired out of a song and music video of mine back in 2012 called, Where Has Love Gone?” Mitts, now a Prescott resident, said. The singer/songwriter and her husband, David, saw a groundbreaking music video, “Our Silence is Shameful,” depicting sex trafficking in the U.S. – which included FBI statistics on the problem. “We were stunned and couldn’t believe so many people did not know what was happening right here in our backyard. We both felt we needed to do something about this growing tragedy here in the U.S.”

Destiny House has opened an aftercare office and treatment center in Prescott, providing counseling and trauma-related therapies for trafficking survivors. Their aim is to provide a transition home in the area for women 18 and over, where survivors can access treatment, counseling, education and job training to heal and transition to a healthy life. Concert proceeds will also go to awareness and prevention programs in the greater Prescott/Quad Cities area.

A singer/songwriter, pianist, and performer, Lisa Mitts has won multiple awards, including the 2023 International Singer Songwriter Association’s Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year awards (Where Did It Go?) and the 2022 Winter World Music Award for Best Music Video (Fly Away). Her music ranges from Americana to Indie/Rock, with Inspirational/Gospel Singer/

Songwriter influences.

“As a recording artist, I know how powerful music can be especially for this kind of mission.” Mitts said. “While it’s hard to face the facts about human trafficking here and many don’t want to deal with it, we know that music is a very impactful way of reaching the heart so that people can actually hear the truth and be aware.”

VIP tickets for the Evening of Destiny fundraiser are $135. These include special access to a meet, greet & photo with Mira Sorvino at 5 p.m., in the upstairs lobby of the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center with Evening of Destiny sponsors.
