If cooler days, turning leaves and the smell of cider aren’t enough to lure you outside this October, what about the chance to learn about Aquaculture? See how drones fly? Or imagine yourself as a farmer, electrical line worker or commercial semi driver? The virtues of Autumn and the possibilities of higher education combine for an invigorating, family-friendly celebration on Saturday, October 5. Join us as Yavapai College, the Town of Chino Valley and the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce present The Harvest Festival, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at YC’s Chino Valley Campus.

“Harvest Festers can expect to feel the full effects of an Arizona fall,” YC Chino Valley Campus Dean Marnee Zazueta says. “Searching for their perfect pumpkin in the patch, getting lost in the corn maze among the sunflowers, exploring the fall colors of campus by hayride, and so much more. Come and experience a little piece of the programs we offer through hands-on demos and tours, while enjoying the tastes of some local food trucks, and enjoying a cold one in the beer garden.”

Sponsored in partnership with the Town of Chino Valley and the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce, The Harvest Festival gives seasonal enthusiasts all they can ask for – hayrides, plant sales, corn mazes, pumpkin patches and tractor shows. Yavapai College’s Chino Valley Campus will also host tours and activities designed to introduce visitors to an exciting array of agricultural fields and technical trades, including Horticulture, Aquaculture, drone flights, commercial driving simulators, welding, automotive repair, electric utility technician training, EMS training, the culinary arts and much more. “This year’s Harvest Festival has something for everyone.” Zazueta aid. “Invite your neighbors and spend your Saturday with us.”

The Harvest Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Yavapai College’s Chino Valley Agribusiness Center, 2275 Old Home Manor Drive, in Chino Valley. Parking for the event is $5. Admission is free.
