Ashley always goes above and beyond to help not only students, but also faculty and other advisors. She is always friendly, available, and helpful.
Ashley is helps students in any way needed and also advocates for them, even in situations where she doesn't have to.
Ashley has worked tirelessly to make sure students are able to transfer as seamlessly as possible, even going so far as to track down syllabi and work with university advisors to make sure classes transfer as they should. Ashley has also spent hours with me helping me create the best pathways for students in my program.
Ashley is organized, thorough, helpful, friendly, and approachable.
Linda is the consummate professional. She never seems to lose her cool, even during high demand times - like right before the new academic year starts, or when prepping for the FLAC process. She is committed to service excellence in every way.
Linda is always very professional and calm (at least on the surface, lol). She has a wealth of knowledge from her long time employment with the college and is well-liked by everyone who knows her.
Linda handles all the adjunct hires and helps guide the credentialing process for all faculty (amongst other duties). She is definitely one who crosses all the t's and dots all the i's. She is an invaluable business partner for HR.
Linda is calm, cool, and collected.
Charlotte is naturally enthusiastic about Yavapai College! During her 5-year tenure, I have watched her develop into a person who truly is proud to represent YC as an employee and in the community.
Her commitment to Yavapai goes beyond the Mail, Print and Distribution Services department she recently began supervising. Charlotte joined YCSA early in her employment and has since served on the board and facilitated the 1st Staff Professional Development Day in 2021 and is continuing to assist in making the 2022 event just as successful. Charlotte takes time to work with the YCSA and encourages other staff members to participate, realizing the importance balance between her job responsibilities and being a supportive team member working toward the same goal.
This year she administered the YCSA Professional Growth Fund from the ground up by meeting with HR and the YCSA committee, from creating the application, marketing, evaluating and working with AP for disbursement of awards. Over 40 staff members have received financial assistance to enhance their career, learn more about their job, continue their education and pay for books and materials. Because of this scholarship opportunity, Yavapai College will certainly receive help from knowledgeable employees as they navigate the ever-changing state and federal government policies and guidelines.
Charlotte considers everyone she sees on campus her customers and immediately takes responsibility for helping them with whatever they may need or problem they need help solving. Whether that is a student waiting for a package, a professor who needs something printed, a coworker looking for volunteers or community members who appreciate a friendly face! Charlotte is always professional and not only helps, but she also advocates and supports them. Charlotte interacts with our student workers in a calm and compassionate voice and demeanor, understanding the challenges and hardships that some students face in their lives outside of Yavapai College. She draws from her own work and life experiences to connect and build those relationships.

Charlotte’s employment at YC started in the Mail Center, but soon she embraced an opportunity to challenge herself professionally by moving to the TRIO and Veterans Services Department. Not only did she learn a new job, but also navigated through a pandemic with dedication and perseverance. Not one to back down, when a supervisor position opened, Charlotte’s qualifications and familiarity with the Mail Center made her the perfect candidate for her current role as Supervisor of Mail, Print and Distribution Services.
Charlotte does not hesitate to model the team approach! If needed she will unload a truck with the forklift, deliver mail and packages, trouble shoot copiers and clear paper jams just to name a few of the tasks that make up the day-to-day operations of MPDS. Charlotte is always present and makes herself available to her team.
Charlotte applies “best practices” in the workplace and incorporates them throughout her personal decisions and relationships. She shows sensitivity and respect when dealing with people and difficult circumstances. She communicates thoughtfully with employees, listens and relies on her moral compass to evaluate the situation and react with appropriate emotions.
Charlotte is genuinely friends with her coworkers and protects those relationships carefully - celebrating their successes, embracing laughter, and providing encouragement and honest feedback. Charlotte can meet a customer in the Mail Center and give them the feeling they absolutely belong here! She always greets students with a smile and friendly voice, jumping in to help pack their belongings for them to ship home!
Charlotte can identify the needs of her team, with understanding, consider their point of view, and motivate them to reach goals and determine the best possible outcome. She is a cheerleader for the people around her and for Yavapai College!
