The Women’s Health Imaging Certificate Program is comprised of two courses designed as facilitated and self-directed learning for radiologic professionals (post-primary) interested in becoming mammographers. The program offers both didactic coursework and clinical skills experiences necessary to prepare the student to challenge the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national examination, as well as meeting the 40-hours initial training required by the Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program. The certificate can be completed in one semester.
• Prerequisite: Current department-issued certificate as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Prerequisite: Mammography Technologist Preceptorship and Temporary Permit.
• Certificate meets Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program (MQSA) guidelines
Students wanting to become a mammographer must pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national examination and then apply for an Arizona Department of Health Services Mammography License.
