College Alert
Updated 3/6/25 4:37 p.m.
Operations and Services Remote Only on Friday, March 7
Due to the forecasted weather, all classes and services will be remote. Students should contact their instructor to determine if their class will be remote. All faculty and staff should work remotely.
College campuses and centers are CLOSED for in-person traffic.
The Family Enrichment Center is CLOSED.
The following procedures are in place on Friday, March 7:
- All faculty scheduled to teach in-person classes should make arrangements to teach classes remotely. No in-person classes are permitted if the college is closed. Please get in touch with your dean if you have issues teaching remotely.
- Faculty are required to communicate with their students regarding changes to class delivery.
- All online classes will continue as normal.
- All employees should work from home and prepare in advance by taking their work equipment home.
- Employees are not permitted at any campus or center.
- All buildings will be locked, and key card access will be turned off.
- Some campuses and centers may have barricades in front of entrances. These are placed to prohibit traffic from entering roadways and parking lots. Only YC Police are permitted to move barricades. Any other individual who moves a barricade is subject to a citation.
- Only authorized facilities personnel are allowed to move snow or ice. No other employee should attempt to do so on college property.
- Facilities personnel will be using heavy equipment to move snow. Please stay away from the equipment. Do not approach facilities personnel who are actively using the equipment. The equipment is loud, and they may not hear you. Additionally, they are not expecting people to be around, which leads to dangerous situations for you and them.
- Essential personnel (EX: facilities, police) will be given instructions by their supervisor regarding their work schedules.
- Those who cannot work from home must check with their supervisor regarding their pay status (a decision to use vacation time may be made based on specific situations).
