I became an EMT working for a local company after completion of EMT school, then went on to obtain my Paramedic and continue working as well as teaching newer generation EMS providers in the area. I obtained the national Star of Life award and was invited to Washington DC for celebratory events with other Star of Life nominees. Went back to YC to finish Firefighting certifications, obtained employment with a Fire department afterwards. Became a Clinical Education coordinator with multiple agencies and new EMS instruction.
YC has given me all of the certifications and schooling I needed to be able to obtain an EMS career and make the most out of it. I then went on to become an EMS instructor to pay it forward for all newer generation of EMT and Paramedic students.
The entire class of Paramedic school was the most intense and challenging class I have taken, through all the internship clinical and vehicular being done. I remember each field training officer, preceptor and instructor that helped me to gain the knowledge of paramedicine.
Ken Schoch, and Steve Rollin were both EMS instructors at the time that helped me gain the knowledge and confidence to be successful in the field. Daniel Thompson was my first EMS partner and educational instructor to assist me with my career.
