Respondus Online Test Proctoring

Your instructors may require you to use online proctoring tools for your quizzes, exams and tests.

If you see the words “Requires Respondus LockDown Browser” in the quiz title, you will have to download the Respondus LockDown Browser and take the quiz using the LockDown Browser.

If it says “Requires Respondus LockDown Browser+Webcam”, you have to use the LockDown Browser and use a webcam to record yourself taking the quiz. This is called Respondus Monitor.

Notes

  • It works on Windows, Mac and Chomebooks and can be enabled to work on iPads, but not on any other device or smartphone.
  • You only have to download and install it once on your computer.

Troubleshooting

  • If the LockDown Browser appears blank or non-responsive after starting your quiz, try the OTHER TAB in the LockDown Browser. Often the quiz opens in a second tab.
  • If the browser becomes non-responsive in general, RESTARTING the LockDown Browser will usually get it working again.
