Returning Students
You do not need to apply again but will need to do the following
- Go to www.yc.edu
- Click on the myYC button in the top right -- password reset
- Update your contact information - you will be prompted to update this at login.
- Contact Admissions (928) 717-7777 to update your program of study

Step 1: Apply for Admission to Yavapai College
After you apply for admission, you will receive your Yavapai College ID number (Y number) and myYC login information. Please keep this in a safe place.

Step 2: Funding Your Education / Apply for Financial Aid
Students must complete a FAFSA application is required to apply for financial aid
- Get started with FAFSA video
- Apply for a FSA ID
- Complete the FAFSA application using your FSA ID.

Funding your education with Grants, Scholarships and Loans:
There are several ways to fund your education. Some ways may not require repayment. See the overview about Grants, Scholarships and Loans
In addition to loans, you may be eligible to recieve funds such as scholarships or grant money may not need to be repaid. Find more information at Yavapai College scholarships
To access the scholarship application:
- After completing the FAFSA, login to the myYC portal at www.yc.edu
- Go to: Students tile → My Financial Aid → YC Scholarship Application
Scholarship application deadlines: Fall is May 15th | Spring is Nov. 30th.

Step 3: Placing into the Appropriate Level of Classes
Doing a skills assessment placement test helps to ensure you are taking the right level of classes to be successful. About Accuplacer testing
To sign up for a skills assessment test:
- Login to your myYC portal, click on Courses
- Select the Prescott or Verde testing to sign up for placement testing
or go to the Testing sign-up page and select "Accuplacer testing".
Step 4: Complete an Interests Assessment
Use the AZPipeline link in your myYC portal to determine which degree or certificate program best fits your goals and skills.
To access AZPipeline:
- Login to your myYC portal, click on Courses
- Select the Prescott or Verde testing to sign up for placement testing
or go to the Testing sign-up page and select "Accuplacer testing".
Step 5: Meet with your Academic Advisor
Yur advisor will help you finalize your degree or certificate path and set up your Degree Works plan that will help you keep on track for your degree.
To contact your advisor:
- Login to your myYC portal, look for the Your Advisor link on the left
- Click on 'Your Advisor" and Book an Appointment.
Step 6: Search and Register for Classes
To search and register for classes:
- Login to your myYC portal, click on the Register for Classes link
- Follow steps using the quick guide or tutorial video here.
Step 5: Paying your Tuition Bill: Self-Pay, Payment Plans, 3rd Party Billing
Visit www.yc.edu/payments for information about tuition rates, payment plan options and 3rd Party billing

A list of required and optional textbooks can be found by viewing your class schedule and clicking on the title for the course or may be listed under my courses.

Step 3: Submitting Transcripts / Course Placement Testing
You will need to submit transcripts from your previous college or university.
Transcript Evaluations (from other schools)
Students who have completed work at other institutions and wish to apply credits toward their Yavapai College degree or certificate must contact their previous college(s) to have official transcripts sent directly to Yavapai College Registrar at the following address:
- Yavapai College Office of the Registrar
- 1100 E. Sheldon St.
- Prescott, AZ 86301
Transcripts are generally evaluated within two weeks of being received by Yavapai College. You can verify the evaluated credit by logging into your account at yc.edu
Once logged into your YC account go to: My Services
--> Students
--> My Transcripts/Grades
